We stayed over four nights / five days during the recent July heat wave. The showers and toilets are clean and the washing up area is spacious and has hot water. Behind the old pub – sadly they recently called last orders and it’s now been converted into a tasteful B&B – two simple grassy fields offer camping for tenting folk looking for a laid-back place to pitch. A small, peaceful campsite with a relaxed atmosphere and an unbeatable location for visiting Rye and East Sussex, We want to make your stay with us safe and we have put the following measures in place. Highly recommend this campsite. We visited the Camber beach every day for a swim and adventures in the dunes with the dog. In Rye, the "Edith's House" cafe is lovely, and the Standard Inn does a cracking lunch - get a window seat and watch people pass by the Tudor house on the other side of the road. It is well located for Rye, Hastings etc but the road is close. Camber Sands is sandwiched by nature reserves – with Dungeness RSPB on one side and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve on the other. Review Badger Cottage Camber Sands: I will generally always opt for a self catering break when given the chance. Camping Holidays at Freshwinds Our camping site is situated on a working farm which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty in East Sussex. Michael Beirne, from Keresley, left Pontins' Camber Sands Holiday Park the night after checking in on July 31, after seeing the chalet's 'filthy conditions', which he filmed on his phone.
